| Important Information on TDAP Legislation went into effect in Virginia in July of 2006 requiring all students entering the sixth grade to receive a Tdap booster (pertussis-containing vaccine). If five years have passed since your child’s last booster, this shot is required. Your child will not receive a class schedule and will not be allowed to start school until documentation is received. There is no grace period or extension permitted this school year. Please review your child’s immunization record. The vaccine may be listed as DPT, T, Td, Dtap, and/or Tdap. There are several clinics in the area to receive the booster if your child has not yet received his/her Tdap.
