Spring Music Program

The fifth grade strings will perform at 6 p.m. followed by the fourth grade’s presentation of Music Matters by Teresa Jennings. It will be a wonderful night of celebrating music!

Military Family Appreciation Month

Each year the President signs a proclamation declaring November Military Family Month. This annual proclamation marks the beginning of a month-long celebration of the Military Family in which the Department of Defense and the nation will honor the commitment and sacrifices made by the families of the nation's service members.  We would like to express our appreciation to all the military families in the Larkspur Middle School community.  Take a moment to click on the link below to view several ways that military families will be honored during the month of November.


Chick-fil-A Family Night

The Chick Fil-A, at the Salem Crossing location, is hosting a family night for LKMS from 5:30-7:30 on Thursday, November 20.  A percentage of the proceeds will go to the LKMS PTA.  I hope that you can attend.

Larkspur Seventh Annual Spelling Bee

The Larkspur Middle School Annual Spelling Bee will take place on Wednesday, December 10th at 4:00pm. Students must be willing to participate in the Bee after school in the auditorium. Copies of the application will be available outside the cafeteria.  Completed applications must be returned to Ms. Spurgeon by November 25, 2014.

Yearbooks Go On Sale!

Give the gift of lasting memories. Buy your student a 2015 Larkspur yearbook as a holiday gift! The yearbook is a great way for your student to remember this year’s events at Larkspur Middle School. As a parent, you know the importance of remembering your teen years and all of the people and events that made that time special.

Take advantage of the Early Bird price of $35.  To make the yearbook extra special, between now and November 26th, you may also have your student’s name stamped on the cover for no additional cost, or purchase up to four personalized icons at just $2 per icon. The link to buy online with a credit card or debit card can be found on the Larkspur webpage. You can also pay at school with cash or check.

Prices go up after November 26th. Remember, buying a yearbook today will provide a lifetime of memories.

Barnes and Nobles Book Fair

Please join us on Tuesday, December 2 from 6-8:30pm at the Virginia Beach Town Center Barnes and Noble for our book fair featuring student performances.  A portion of all sales, including the café, will go to support Larkspur’s library program.  This year we are also offering a cupcake decorating station during the book fair! Visual and Performing Arts Academy

All students and parents interested in the Visual and Performing Arts Academy at Salem High School are invited to attend the open house scheduled for Tuesday, November 18th, from 6:30-8:30 pm. There will be a Salem SunDevil Fair, General Information Meeting, and several Breakout Sessions covering program information for visual arts, theatre, instrumental, vocal, and dance.

November 26 Adjusted Dismissal Day

November 26 is an adjusted dismissal day for students.  Students will be released at 1:20.  Please plan accordingly.
